A thriving business environment but one where customers
and their customer service issues are ignored or viewers
were horrified at the ads on free hosted sites and ran away
to a competitor, no answers to their questions or delays
that cost sales/ bookings!.

are just some of the findings |
- About 20% of the websites had a form customers could
fill out for assistance. Each one was completed some
worked some didn't those that did actually work were
asked for help, and only one tenth response was received.
Some of these were only automated email responses which
indicated that "I would be receiving a detailed
response shortly but NONE ever arrived!.
- 10% of the website's visited offered no means to connect
with the business owner by email. Email is the most
significant Internet tool; yet 10% of the studied websites
were not using it to assist their customers and their
business.
- The sites selling products overwhelmingly offered
a straight up or down decision on whether to purchase
what they were selling. In other words, these sites
and their owners made no attempt to deal with undecided
prospects who might need customer service. "Buy
and go away or just go away," was what these websites
seemed to say.
- Half had you frustrated and getting lost trying to
find the information that was being searched for.
- Many took too long to open or didn't open at all!
- The image that many of the sites portrayed looked
unprofessional or trustworthy
- Colours were often conflicting and uninviting.
